    Festive feasting from around the world…

    For those of us living in the UK, traditional Christmas feasting is all about the turkey (it’s the centrepiece of our Christmas Box!), but for many of our European neighbours, a Christmas Eve dinner is the main event and sees fish taking over from turkey. So as a special Christmassy feature on our menu, we’ll be showcasing a festive fish recipe inspired by a different country over the next four weeks.

    Italian-Style Christmas-Crumbed Hake with Roast Potatoes and Warm Aubergine and Caper Salsa

    This week, Chef Mimi’s Italian-style Christmas-crumbed hake is inspired by the region of southern Italy. Since simplicity and intense flavours are the hallmark of Italian dishes, you can expect a deliciously flavourful festive treat from this recipe!

    Season’s Sea Bream with Golden Gratin with Serrano Ham and Green Beans with Almonds

    Forget Frankincense and myrrh, saffron is the world’s most precious spice, and it makes this dish extra special. A rich saffron cream tops the potato gratin along with crispy Serrano ham for a decadent festive treat. We’ve paired the gratin with pan-fried bream because of its light flavour and texture, and topped with toasted almonds.

    Winter-Warming Sea Bass with Tapas-Style Potatoes and Charred Peppers

    During the festive season, fish is often a welcome respite and this recipe is exactly that. Sea bass is beautifully paired with light and zesty flavours like lemon and fresh parsley. Chef Mimi has incorporated some classic Spanish flavours with the patatas bravas for a Christmas dish with a twist!
