    #CookItForward HelloFresh Christmas

We’re all different. Some of us love listening to Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You at Christmas. Others relish more traditional tunes like Winter Wonderland. But if you want to show your loved ones how much they mean to you – Christmas proves that the best way to their hearts is through their stomachs.

This is why, we were surprised to hear that nearly 50% of people in the UK have never cooked for someone else other than their partner or children? And a fifth of people eat alone on a daily basis? We’re on a mission to change that this Christmas!

We wanted to find out more about our cooking habits here in Blighty, so we did a bit of research and made some interesting discoveries! When asked if it should be the woman’s job to do the cooking in the household, nearly 80% of people (quite rightly!) disagreed. However nearly half of all women surveyed said they do the cooking on Christmas Day compared to a third of men. And less than 10% of over 55’s are cooked for by their children on Christmas Day.

    #CookItForward by Cooking For Someone

Today we’re launching our Cook It Forward campaign. We’re encouraging everyone, old or young, advanced or newbie, to cook for someone else. Whether it’s for a big group, such as a nursing home or a charity, or on a smaller scale, such as cooking dinner for a loved one after a hard day, it all counts! Christmas is a time of giving and what better way to show your love for someone than through the cooking and eating of a delicious meal?!

Here at the Fresh Farm we’ll be doing everything we can to Cook It Forward. Some of the team are helping out at a soup kitchen in East London, and something you might not know, is that we donate any leftover ingredients after packing the week’s boxes to a local charity which helps the homeless.
