4 Margarita Recipes To Celebrate The Bank Holiday

There are margarita recipes, and then there are THESE margarita recipes. Fruity, bold-flavoured, and perfect to pair with our Street Food recipes for the ultimate Bank Holiday feast.

Now the only question that remains…what to pair with these recipes? Fortunately, the answer is simple… margaritas!

1. Honey Lemon Margarita

Citrusy sweet perfection, if you ask us.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Ounces Golden Tequila
  • 1 Ounce Triple Sec
  • 1/2 Ounce Honey
  • 1/2 Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
  • Ice
  • Lemon Wedge, for rim
  • Salt, for rim
  • Lemon Wheel, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Combine tequila, triple sec, honey, and fresh lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Shake until honey fully dissolves.
  2. Add ice and shake another 10 seconds.
  3. Before pouring, coat rim of glass with a lemon wedge, then dip in salt and rotate until fully coated.
  4. Strain cocktail into glass with ice and garnish with a lemon wheel.

2. Watermelon Basil Margarita

If this margarita could talk, it would scream summer.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • For the basil simple syrup:
  • 1 Cup Raw Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Packed Fresh Basil Leaves
  • For the margarita:
  • 1 1/2 Ounces Tequila
  • 1 Ounce Lime Juice
  • 1/2 Ounce Basil Simple Syrup
  • 2 Ounces Watermelon Juice
  • Ice
  • Lime Wedge, for rim
  • Salt, for rim
  • Basil, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the basil simple syrup by combining sugar, water, and basil in a pan. Heat until sugar dissolves, then set aside to let cool. Once cooled, strain into a jar and refrigerate up to two weeks.
  2. Combine tequila, lime juice, basil simple syrup, and watermelon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.
  3. Before pouring, coat rim of glass with a lime wedge, then dip in salt and rotate until fully coated.
  4. Strain cocktail into glass with ice and garnish with a sprig of basil.

3. Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita

A kick of heat, a zing of lime, AND a refreshing burst of cucumber juice = trifecta.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • Handful Cilantro
  • 1/2 Jalapeño, seeded and thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 Ounces White Tequila
  • 2 Ounces Cucumber Juice (made by blending peeled cucumbers in a food processor, then straining)
  • 1/2 Ounce Triple Sec
  • 1 Ounce Fresh Lime Juice
  • Ice
  • Jalapeño and Cucumber Slice, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Muddle cilantro and jalapeño in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add tequila, cucumber juice, triple sec, lime juice, and ice. Shake well.
  3. Strain cocktail into glass with ice and garnish with jalapeño and cucumber slice.

4. Mango Chili Margarita

All hail the mango for natural sweetness that’s balanced out ever so slightly by the fiery chilli powder.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 Ounces Tequila
  • 2 Ounces Mango Juice
  • 1 Ounce Triple Sec
  • 1/2 Ounce Lime Juice
  • Ice
  • Lime Wedge, for rim
  • Chili Powder, for rim
  • Salt, for rim

Instructions:

  1. Combine tequila, mango juice, triple sec, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.
  2. Before pouring, coat rim of glass with a lime wedge, then dip in chili powder and salt mixture. Rotate until fully coated.
  3. Strain cocktail into glass with ice.

5. Blueberry Margarita

Blueberries and lime are a match made in margarita heaven.

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Fresh Blueberries, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 Ounce Lime Juice
  • 2 Ounces Tequila
  • 1 Ounce Grand Marnier
  • Ice
  • Lime Wedge, for rim
  • Salt, for rim

Instructions:

  1. Muddle blueberries and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add tequila, Grand Marnier, and ice, then shake well to combine.
  3. Before pouring, coat rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip in salt and rotate until fully coated.
  4. Strain cocktail into a glass with ice and garnish with extra blueberries.
