April 30, 2020
by Rebecca Down Seize The Summer

The sun may have momentarily taken a timeout but Summer is still very much in full swing. To celebrate the fifth week of seizing the summer, we’re showing you how to get the most from your HelloFresh box. From a DIY doll’s house to your very own cardboard pet elephant, the possibilities are endless and will keep the kids entertained for hours. Don’t forget to share your creations with us on our Instagram and Facebook pages!

    1. ELEPHANT

    WHAT YOU NEED:

    • Scissors
    • Glue or brown masking tape
    • Colouring Pens

    METHOD:

    1. Using a pair of scissors, safely cut off the bottom half of your HelloFresh box.
    2. Cut out a tail for your elephant and attach it to the back of the box with brown masking tape.
    3. Using the card from the bottom half of your box, cut out two large ears and the elephant’s face.
    4. Tape the ears to either side of the face and then attach the head to the body with glue or tape.
    5. Decorate as you wish!

    2. DOLLS HOUSE (OR PET BED!)

    WHAT YOU NEED:

    • Scissors
    • Glue or sellotape
    • Colouring Pens

    METHOD:

    1. Cut one half off the front of your box with a pair of scissors.
    2. For the windows, draw a template for the windows and cut out with a pair of scissors.
    3. For the roof use the inside flaps of the box. Cut them off the box and tape them together along the longer side.

    3. TV SET

    WHAT YOU NEED:

    • Scissors
    • Glue/ sellotape
    • Colouring Pens
    • Straws
    • Paper fasteners

    METHOD:

    1. Using a pen, make an outline of a square and cut it out carefully with a pair of scissors.
    2. Use this square of cardboard to cut out the buttons for your TV and attach them to the front with paper fasteners so they spin!
    3. Make a door opening at the back of the box so the kids don’t have to keep climbing in through the front (this will also help it to last longer!)
    4. Finally, for the antenna, pop two paper straws through the top of the box.
