The internet is a scary place, but we all knew that. Every time you ask Google a question, it records it and releases its top trending searches year on year. But, before you get completely freaked out and throw your mobile device into a river never to be seen again, take a look at the top 5 trending recipes of 2017 for the UK. We’ve rounded up our favourite recipes and essentially immortalised 2017 in the form of one delicious blog post.

So, sit back, feast your eyes and take a trip down memory lane. Let us know your top searches in the comments!

    1. “Cake Recipe”

Birthday? Cake. Leaving party? Cake. Passed your driving test? Cake. Wednesday afternoon? You guessed it, CAKE. It’s no surprise “cake recipe” came in at number one of Google’s most searched in 2017. And it’s almost like we predicted it with this round-up of our top cake recipes of Instagram back in January this year. Cake creds: Lily Vanilli.

    2. “Chicken Recipe”

Coming in hot at number 2 is a classic Sunday afternoon search of “Chicken Recipe”. A little less exciting than cake, we have to admit, but us Brits do love a bit of chicken. And number 2 deserves nothing less than our indulgent Chicken Saltimbocca with Porcini Risotto, Rocket and Lemon Oil. Cook it this weekend as you reminisce on those fond chicken recipe memories of 2017. Good times.

    3. “Pancake Recipe”

Thin and crispy, or thick and fluffy. No matter how you like them, the internet has a pancake recipe for you. Try our incredibly simple 3 ingredient pancake recipe for when you’re short of time (we don’t use the word ‘lazy’ around here…), or if you’re a savoury kind of pancake-lover, our Goats Cheese and Caramelised Onion Chickpea Pancakes are the ones for you.

    4. “Bread Recipe”

    Bread-recipe

Carbs, glorious carbs. We don’t blame you for furiously searching the internet for bread recipes. There’s really nothing better than a warm, homemade loaf smothered in butter. Why not sweeten things up with this delicious gluten-free banana bread recipe?

    5. “Curry Recipe”

In at number 5, it’s the classic “Curry Recipe”. Now, we know us Brits are no stranger to a curry, and it seems more and more of us are searching for recipes to make our own versions at home. But please, don’t go for your usual from the shop down the road. Try our Plantain Curry Recipe, perfect for beginner curry-makers and veggies alike! Gloriously vibrant and an easy way to spice up dinnertime.

So, there you have it. The UK’s top 5 trendiest recipes of 2017. Here’s to another year of delicious online searches! Happy New Year!
