The Great British Bake Off is back and the task for yesterday was to bake some delicious sponge cake recipes.  Just in case you were itching to make some cake creations tonight, we have rounded up some simple but spectacular looking cakes.  I love cakes, all type of cakes accompanied with a glass of milk (or tea/coffee if you wish). Which cake recipe is your favourite from the bunch? Or perhaps you have your own recipe you’ll like to share with us?

    Swedish Kladkakka by Donal Skehan

I had to put this one in despite it not being very well healthy. But look at the smooth cream frosting on the Swedish Chocolate Dream Cake by Donal Skehan coupled with a chocolate sponge, perfect perfect comfort dessert.

Tropical Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting by Tracey’s Culinary Adventures

My favourite has to be this Tropical Carrot Cake with Cream Frosting by Tracey’s Culinary Adventures, there is more work involved but the outcome is a worth it. Nothing really beats a moist carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Hope all the cake reading doesn’t make you hungry!
