Popcorn Seasoning UK Favourites: Salted Caramel, Cinnamon, Matcha & Chocolate

    We did a mini poll on what people like on their popcorn – other than the normal sweet or salty. Some of the answers were pretty standard like chocolate and salted caramel (MMMMmmmmmmm), but matcha and cinnamon we did not expect at all. What a lot of absolute foodies there are among us Brits. Now, it’s not always just a case of sprinkling stuff on. So, if you’d like to try these flavours next time you pop yourself some corn, here’s the best way to make them taste epic.

    Popcorn Seasoning #1: Cinnamon

    Cinnamon Popcorn

    Ingredients:

    • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
    • 1 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tbsp melted butter
    • 75g Popcorn kernels, popped

    Instructions:

    1. Stir all your ingredients together until thoroughly blended

    Popcorn Seasoning #2: Chocolate

    Chocolate Popcorn

    Ingredients:

    • 2 tbsp butter
    • 50g brown sugar
    • 2 tbsp golden syrup
    • 1 tbsp milk
    • 60 g dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
    • 75g Popcorn kernels, popped

    Instructions:

    1. Add the milk, dark chocolate, golden syrup, brown sugar and butter into a pan and melt together
    2. Pour into your popcorn and stir together[/column]

    Matcha Popcorn

    Ingredients:

    • 1 tbsp matcha powder
    • 1 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tbsp melted coconut oil
    • 75g Popcorn kernels, popped

    Instructions:

    1. Stir all your ingredients together until thoroughly blended

    Salted Caramel Popcorn

    Ingredients:

    • 200g salted butter
    • 200g brown sugar
    • 150g maple syrup
    • 1 tsp vanilla essence
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder

    Instructions:

    1. Melt the butter, sugar, maple syrup and salt in a pot. Once the sugar is moist, turn the heat up and let it bubble and then turn down  to medium heat for 3-4 minutes and don’t stir.
    2. Add in the vanilla and baking powder and stir until it makes a caramel.
