The Best New Year’s Eve Cocktail Recipes

    As the clock strikes midnight, make sure you’ve got one of these deliciously quick cocktails in hand to see in the New Year!

    Fresh, easy to mix, and perfect for a party, here are our favourite New Year’s Eve cocktail recipes…

    1. Poinsettia Spritz Punch

    Total time 10 minutes
    1 serving

    Ingredients:

    • 30 ml vodka
    • 60 ml 100% cranberry juice or pomegranate juice
    • 10 ml St. Germain elderflower liquor
    • 30 ml champagne
    • 15 g fresh cranberries
    • slices rosemary and orange for serving

    Instructions:

    1. In a large pitcher, combine the vodka, cranberry juice and St. Germain. Chill until ready to serve.
    2. When ready to serve, add the champagne and cranberries. Pour among glasses and garnish with rosemary and orange zest/slices.

    2. White Christmas Mojito

    Total time 5 minutes
    1 serving

    Ingredients:

    • juice of 1 part of lime
    • 5 leaves of mint
    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 2 tablespoons white rum
    • 1 tablespoon coconut rum
    • 30 ml canned coconut milk
    • 2 tablespoons sparkling water for topping
    • pomegranate arils for serving

    Instructions:

    1. In a glass, muddle the lime juice, sugar and mint leaves until the leaves have broken down. Fill the glass half way with ice.
    2. In a blender, combine the white rum, coconut rum, and coconut milk and pulse until smooth. Pour over the ice and stir to combine.
    3. Top with sparkling water, mint and pomegranate.

    3. Juniper Champagne Cocktail

    Total time 10 minutes
    1 serving

    Ingredients:

    • 1 tablespoon sugar
    • 1 glas prosecco
    • a handful of juniper berries, crushed
    • Unsprayed pine sprigs for serving

    Instructions:

    1. Bring sugar, 50 ml water, and the juniper berries to a simmer in a pot, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; let cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve; discard solids. Refrigerate 1 hour or up to 1 week.
    2. For each cocktail, combine 1 tablespoon juniper syrup with 20 ml sparkling wine in a glass. Garnish with a pine sprig; serve immediately.

    4. Pomegranate, Mint and Rose Spritz (Mocktail)

    Total time 10 minutes
    1 serving

    Ingredients:

    • 2 tbsp pomegranate syrup
    • 1 lime
    • 1 tablespoon rose water
    • handful mint leaves
    • 1 pomegranate
    • 250 ml soda water
    • 1 tablespoon rose petals (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. Add a tablespoon of pomegranate seeds to the glass, follow with 2 teaspoons of pomegranate syrup, 1 tablespoon rose water and the juice of 1/2  lime.
    2. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to muddle this a little, crushing some of those pomegranate seeds into the syrup.
    3. Add a few ice cubes, then some mint leaves, a wedge of lime and another tablespoon of pomegranate seeds. Add more ice and then another wedge of lime, another few mint leaves and another tablespoon of pomegranate seeds.
    4. Repeat one more time if using a tall glass. If you have leftover syrup you can drizzle a little extra over the top.
    5. Top each glass with soda water. Use a stray or long thin spoon to stir briefly to mix in the syrup. Sprinkle with rose petals.
