by Hattie Street Food Recipes

We all know it’s the Bank Holiday weekend this week, since gaining a day off work is not something we forget. But one national event that may have slipped under the radar is National Burger Day, which occurs on Thursday.

It makes perfect sense, then, to see in the Bank Holiday weekend with a lip-smacking burger recipe and of course, we’ve got you covered. The final recipe in our limited edition Street Food collection, our Korean Fried Chicken and Halloumi Burger is the perfect crowd-pleaser if you’re entertaining friends during the long weekend, or simply fancy enjoying something epic.

Order recipe

What’s Korean fried chicken?

Korean Fried Chicken, KFC or chikin as it is called in Korea, is deep-fried chicken coated with sweet and sticky sesame sauce.

What to drink with your burger

In Korea, enjoying chicken and a drink is a tradition known as “anju”, so how about a cocktail suggestion that complements our bank holiday burger nicely?

Category: Street Food Recipes, Uncategorized

3 ounces aged rum
1 ounce triple sec
1 ounce pineapple juice
2 slices fresh pineapple
4-5 lime wedges
6-8 mint leaves

  1. Method:
  2. Muddle the pineapple, lime, and mint in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice and add the other ingredients.
  4. Shake well.
  5. Strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Where to eat your burger

Since a burger is made to be eaten with your hands, try dining al fresco in your local park or make the last of the summer sun in the garden. As is the case with “anju” eating chicken is a social activity, so wherever you choose to eat, invite some friends over and let’s make this Bank Holiday count.
