    5-Minute Chilli Sauce Recipes

    Because we know that the UK is a nation of spicy food lovers, we’ve got 4 easy recipes to make your own chilli sauce at home. We know that some people can eat hotter chillies than others, which is why these sauces are all different levels of heat. They’ve also got their own distinct flavour, so for each chilli sauce, we’ve suggested foods and ingredients to pair them with – from pasta sauces to light fishes, meats and veg.

    Each chilli sauce recipe takes no more than 5 minutes to make as most of them just require being popped together in a blender. Once made, they should keep for about 4-5 days in a refrigerator.

    The Chilli Sauces:

    1. Oregano Chilli Tastes Good when:
    •  You add a tiny bit to pasta sauce
    • You rub a tiny bit as a fish marinade

    2. Garlic Chilli Tastes Good when:
    • You add a tsp to vegetable stir fry
    • You add a tsp to rub on chicken

     

    3. Scotch Bonnet Chilli Tastes Good when:
    • You add a tsp to rub on lamb and beef
    • You add a tiny dash to stews to give them a kick.

    4. Gentle Green Chilli Tastes Good when:
    • As a rub for fish.
    • As a condiment with Thai & Mexican food.

    1. Oregano chilli recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 1 red pepper, roasted
    • 3 jalapeno peppers
    • 1 red chilli pepper
    • 2 cloves garlic
    • 4 basil leaves
    • 2 tsp oregano, dried
    • 1/2 onion
    • 2 tbsp olive oil
    • 2 tbsp coconut milk
    • 1 tsp smoked paprika
    • 2 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 tsp black pepper, crushed

    Instructions:

    1. Blend together.

    2. Garlic Chilli Sauce Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 1 roasted garlic heads, peel off skin
    • 10 red chilli pepper 
    • 2 shallots, peel off skin
    • 2 tbsp white vinegar
    • 1 tsp sugar 
    • 2 tbsp peanut or sesame oil 
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 tsp fish sauce

    Instructions:

    1. Blend all ingredients together.

    3. Scotch Bonnet Chilli Sauce Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 1 shallot
    • 2 cloves of garlic
    • 8 scotch bonnet chillies
    • 3 ripe tomato
    • 2 tbsp apple vinegar
    • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tbsp sugar

    Instructions:

    1. Blend all the ingredients together.

     

    4. Green Chilli Sauce Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 6 Long Green Chillies
    • 1 green bell pepper
    • 10 cloves garlic
    • 1 bunch coriander, coarsely chopped
    • 1 bunch parsley, coarsely chopped
    • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
    • ½ Tbsp Fennel seeds
    • ½ Tbsp ground cardamon
    • 1½ tsp salt
    • Olive oil

    Instructions:

    1. Blend all the ingredients together.
