So, here are our team’s favourite Mexican eateries in the UK – if you live near one, and you want to taste incredibly good Mexican food, you should give them a try.

The menu at La Bodega Negra had my mouth watering… You know that moment when you order and you’re counting down the seconds until the food comes because it sounds and smells divine. I had that at this place. Their soft shell crab burger with avocado and fries is a winner and it’s pretty unique. They’ve also got a great range of tacos from pulled lamb to pork belly. Plus their house margarita with orange liqueur is delightful!

If you fancy a treat for your eyes and your tastebuds, give La Choza a try. Recommended by The Guardian and The Observer Food Monthly (and the Fresh Times), they’re known for their slow cooked Mexican street food and their incredibly good prices. They call themselves the home of authentic Mexican food in Brighton and we wholeheartedly agree!

The Northern Quarter’s El Capo has been heralded as the most authentic Mexican spot in Manchester. If you’re the adventurous type who likes a good deal of spice, this is a spot
for you. With dishes like whitebait, cow heart, rump steak and chimichanga, it’s anything but boring.

Chula is all about authentic Mexican food. My absolute favourites are their 21 day aged bavette steak with rice, beans and grilled shallots and their stuffed spicy poblano peppers. SO GOOD. Just like us, they’re not about being fancy, they’re about good, home cooked food with fantastic ingredients and flavour. That goes for their cocktails too! A total win!

Keep your eyes peeled for our chef Victoria’s Quickdraw Quesadillas recipe in our boxes. This little piece of Mexico is inspired by the time she hopped off to Mexico for a few months with a couple of Pesos in her pocket and not much else.
